Eagle Eye 03-2-2017

[SUBJECT]

Grade 2 students went to Fagnoon Art School where they experienced many crafts of Egypt, including using pottery wheels, weaving on Bedouin looms, baking bread and farming. The trip gave them an opportunity to enjoy time in the countryside while making a pot on a pottery wheel, and working as farmers in the fields, using some tools.

Thanks to all who have already signed up for Parent/Teacher conferences. Sign-ups will be done on SKYWARD. See link for further information.

Grade 1 had music informances this week to demonstrate what they have been learning and exploring in class. A lot of fun for all!

We are proud to be hosting the Cairo Citywide Spelling Bee on Tuesday, March 7 at 9:50 am. Guests are welcome to join us in the theater. We wish all of the participants the very best!

Here is a summary of the feedback:

  • Sign-up Process: All said that it was clear
  • Requests to have Soccer all year long: We work with the athletics office to offer different sports all year long and encourage students to try new activities every session
  • Pottery went missing: We could not use the room in old MS building anymore
  • The break between the sessions was around a month long break: Due to the following events, there was no time for ASA - one ES Production week scheduled after the activities ended, Pack the Gym Night, Swimming Tryouts, and Parent/Teacher conferences. A minimum of at least one week is needed for the session 3 sign-up and scheduling process.

Lost and Found- repeat announcement
Part of educating students at CAC is encouraging independence through increasing responsible behaviors. We constantly encourage students to label their items so that they are easily identified and returned back to the owner. It is also important that students know what to do when they lose any of their items.

Here is what we advise students to do when they report a lost item:

  1. Look everywhere (lost & found table/class/playground/inside backpacks/home, etc....).
  2. Ask Others (friends/teachers/parents/siblings, etc....).
  3. Ask parents to report to the lost and found link. Upper grade students can do this too.
  4. Use the same link to report when item is found.

In order to support our students and community members with the above process, we created a form to help us keep track of lost and found items.
