PRIME TRIPS

PRIME TRIPS

Dear Parents,

Most of you are already familiar with the PRIME Trips (Primary Resource in the Middle East) that our students are privileged to take in the Middle School.  We are writing to you now, because as soon as we return in August, we will need to begin preparing for the PRIME Trips that will happen from October Sunday, October 23rd - Thursday October  27th 2016 for our seventh and eighth graders, and from Monday, October 24th - Thursday October 27th for our sixth graders.

For our sixth grade students, and new students here is a little background to familiarize you with this exciting program. These PRIME trips are an important part of the Middle School program.  This off-campus activities-based program offers students the opportunity to extend the curriculum beyond the classroom walls in exciting ways in a new environment.  They are also able to develop new friendships, try new experiences, and build self-confidence. The CAC PRIME Trips are an integral and mandatory part of the Middle School curriculum.

In the 2016/17 school year, we are very pleased that we can return one of our trips to Egypt for the first time in several years, as the security situation here allows us to take the sixth graders back to Luxor for an exciting four days that complements their ancient civilisations studies in Social Studies. The seventh grade students will once again return to Jordan, a trip that has been extremely successful in the past, while the eighth grade students will have the amazing opportunity to visit Greece for a mix of cultural and outdoor activities.   READ MORE

  • 6TH GRADE - LUXOR Open or Close

In October 2016, we are delighted that the Grade 6 students will once more be able to travel within Egypt for their PRIME trip. Students will travel to Luxor for four days/three nights of exploration of Luxor and the surrounding area, while also incorporating a number of other activities into their day. The 6th grade team is pleased to have this opportunity to extend our learning environment beyond the traditional classroom walls, and we look forward to the special connections that we can make with each other as a result of this trip. Students will have the opportunity to study ancient Egyptian civilization right where it happened, where so many amazing ruins still stand, and where they will be bathed in the history of their host country for four days. Students will stay at the Maritim Jolie Ville Hotel, on its own island, and make a trip each day. Students will visit many of the world famous archeological sites in and around Luxor. There will also be plenty of time for bonding together as a new middle school group, with many enjoyable and worthwhile activities to fill their time while they are not out exploring. We encourage enrollment in this worthwhile and often most memorable component of the Middle School Curriculum. This trip will take place from Monday, October 24, 2016, to Thursday, October 27, 2016.
