AQUATICS PROGRAMS

ELIGIBILITY:

  1. Students of C.A.C. and their immediate family members
  2. Alumni of CAC & their Parents
  3. Faculty, Support Staff, Administration, & Board Members
  4. Non-Affiliate CAC ID Holders 

CAC STUDENTS and FAMILY MEMBERS FREE!!
Currently enrolled CAC students and their immediate family members are eligible to use the pool during recreational (open swim) hours, free of charge, as long as each family member shows their CAC ID Card at the pool window upon entering the pool facility. To activate this privilege, a parent should complete and sign a membership form, available from the Pool Office. This membership is valid as long as the student attends CAC.

PAYMENT OF FEES:
Fees for pool membership, swim school classes, pool parties and house guests are charged in U.S. dollars. Payment is made to the school cashier located in the Welcome Center on the ground floor of the CAC administration building.

SCHOOL CASHIER’S HOURS: Open from 8AM-1:30PM and 2:30-3:30PM Sun.-Thurs. (school days only).

  • Please review our Rules and Regulations with your children and remind them that these rules are to ensure their safety and comfort, as well as others.
  • Children 7 years & under must be accompanied by a responsible member, 18 years or older.

The CAC Pool offers the following programs and classes during the school year: REGISTRATION for AGE GROUP Swimming is now done online.

All courses are subject to minimum and maximum enrollments. Course Fees are NOT refundable.

  • AGE GROUP SWIM TEAM Open or Close

    Age Group Swim Team is a fun team for boys and girls, grades 1-12, focusing on the development and perfection of the four competitive strokes. Swim Team is a full season commitment offered in Fall and Spring. The Fall Season begins with tryouts on August 28/29 and runs from September 4 - November 10. The Spring season runs from March 19 – May 25

    A seasonal fee is charged for the swim team. ES students pay $65 for Fall Age Group (two practices per week). MS/HS students pay $130 for Fall Age Group (four practices per week).

    PRACTICE TIMES: The team practices every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

    ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Practice time is from 3:15-4:15PM. Swimmers practice two days per week, either Sunday & Wednesday or Monday & Thursday. Emphasis is placed on stroke and skill development in all four competitive strokes. Late bus dismissal for this group is 4pm.

    MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL: Practice time is from 4-5:30PM. Swimmers are expected to practice at least three days per week, with practice offered every weekday except Tuesday. Emphasis is placed on stroke refinement and drills for the four competitive strokes. Starts and turns are introduced.

    PRE-REQUISITES TO JOIN SWIM TEAM FOR THE FIRST TIME : A Swimmer must demonstrate 25 meters front crawl, with rotary breathing; 25m back crawl AND be drown-proof in deep water.

  • AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARDING COURSE Open or Close

    The American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course provides the necessary minimum skills & knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies.

    Pre-Requisites:

    1. 1. 15 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of this course.
    2. 2. Swim 300 yards continuously using these strokes in the following order:
      • o 100 yards of front crawl using rhythmic breathing and a stabilizing, propellant kick.
      • o 100 yards of breaststroke using a pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence.
      • o 100 yards of either the front crawl or breaststroke. The 100 yards may be a combination of front crawl and breaststroke

        NOTE: There is no time requirement for this skill. The participant must show only that he/she can swim 300 yards using the above strokes without stopping. The purpose of the swim is to demonstrate comfort in the water.

    3. 3. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute, 40 seconds.

    COURSE FEE: $200 (includes Lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid). Pre-register at the Pool Office from 2:30-3:30 every school day and during open swim hours.

    SCHEDULE: Lifeguarding begins on Tuesday August 30, and extends through Tuesday November 1. Class is held every Tuesday from 4:30-6:30pm. Please be prompt!

    Note!! Mark your calendar for Saturday October 1 - CPR in the PE classroom from 8am-5pm.

  • CONDITIONING Open or Close

    Swimming for conditioning is a course designed for those who want to improve their cardiovascular fitness as well as lose weight and tone up. If you know how to swim but feel your technique can use some adjustment, or if you want to learn a new stroke, help is also provided for those areas.

  • SPRINGBOARD DIVING Open or Close

    Pre-Requisites: Grades 1-12 and drown-proof in deep water.

    Tuesdays: 4:15-5:00PM

    Dates: August 30 - November 1

    Course Fee: $ 100 (10 classes) Pre-register at the Pool Office from 2:30-3:30 every school day and during open swim hours.

  • LEARN-TO-SWIM CLASSES FOR CHILDREN Open or Close

    LEVEL I,  LEVEL II & LEVEL III

    These American Red Cross courses for children enhance water adjustment, swimming development and personal safety and rescue skills.
    PARENTS, PLEASE NOTE THAT AFTER SCHOOL BUSES ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING LEARN TO SWIN CLASSES, AS WE FINISH THE CLASSES AT 4:15 PM.

  • PRESCHOOL Open or Close

    Intended to develop in young children (3 years-5 years) a comfort level in and around the water, as well as a readiness for learning to swim. It is important to understand that these classes are NOT designed to teach children to become accomplished swimmers or even to survive in the water on their own. The classes provide information and techniques for parents to orient their children to the water and to learn how to safely supervise all water activities.

    PRESCHOOL BUBBLER (3-4 years)
    Every Saturday morning 12:00-12:45 PM
    Begins: March 19- May 24
    Course Fee: $70
    *NOTE! A parent must accompany the child in the water during each class.

••• POOL PARTIES!  Host a Pool Party! Pool members are eligible to rent the pool for birthday parties and other special occasions. An area can be set-aside for food and beverages as well as serving tables, upon request. Lifeguards are provided for your safety.
