What do I have access to on the Server? |
- You’ll have access to your department folder.
- You’ll have access to your classes' folders.
- You’ll also have access to any folder that is publicly shared.

How do I get to my folders? |
- Once you logon to the server all accessible folders will appear to you in the list “see image below”

What are Department and Class folders?

Department Folders
- Every Department/Grade Level has its folder on the Server, Inside this folder there are individual Staff folders that only the assigned individual name has access to.
- There is also a Department Shared folder that the entire Department has access to and is able to share information with each other through it.
Class Folders
- Every Teacher has a class folder for work with his students that only the teacher and the students have access to. ‘Must be requested by teachers’
- There are different types of class folders.
- Standard: A standard class folder consists of one main class folder and two subfolders
- The Main class folder is what appears to you on the Server
- The two subfolders are:
- Hand-In Folder that students can hand in there assessments projects or what ever you require from them ‘Students can only drag files into this folder’
- Hand-Out Folder that you place any material that you would like students to View ‘Students can open and copy the files in this folder but can not delete them
- Special: A special folder consists of one main folder and individual student subfolders:
- The Main class folder is what appears to you on the Server
- Individual student subfolders. Can only be accessed by the specified student and their teacher.
You can also choose to have any of the following added to your subfolders:
- Hand-In Hand-Out Subfolders with the same privileges as above
- A Class Shared subfolder that all students and their teacher have full control and access to
- Both or just the individual student subfolders

What else can I or can’t I do on the server?
|
- You can backup important files and folders to your divisional folders on the server, it’s recommended to backup at least once a week.
- You can’t backup personal movies, pictures or music.
- You can copy files and folders back and forth off the server by dragging the requested file or folder to and from the Server.
- You shouldn’t open files directly from the server, you need to copy the file onto your local machine and work on the file locally.
- You should always save your work locally close the file and then drag/Copy it to your required folder on the server.
- You can mount more than one folder at the same time.
- You can copy files and folders from one mounted folder to another.
- You can’t access anyone else’s personal folders.
