CAC LIBRARIES
The library program across all divisions promotes a life-long love of reading and a curriculum of skills for the 21st century learner. In a world awash in information, we strive to teach our patrons the ability to find and use information and ideas effectively.
To serve the school community, the CAC Libraries have a collection of over 60,000 books and A/V items, along with a wealth of online resources, including a collection of eBooks.
The Elementary School (ES) Library serves the elementary students, teachers and parents. A varied print collection supports classroom inquiries as well as personal interests. Students in prek to grade 2 focus on the appreciation of literature through read alouds. As students grow older, these lessons start to focus on research skills. The elementary librarian teaches more advanced research skills in collaboration with classroom teachers, integrating information literacy as needed during units of study.
Free, individual, non-transferable memberships are offered to members of the CAC community who hold valid CAC photo ID cards and have library privileges. Non-affiliate cards are also available. All MHS library patrons need valid CAC ID cards to borrow materials.
