Course Description: |
As humans we respond to moving images. Because of this, learning their impact on us and how to use them to express ideas is a necessary skill. Especially in today's highly visual world. Most of us are walking around with cameras in our pockets. This course uses that tool to explore ways of telling stories and finding meaning in this collaborative art form. This course is for 9th through 12th grade students who would like to learn about storytelling through film/video. It will be a combination of film analysis and film production with just a bit of film history to provide perspective. The class will start by exploring how to express meaning through film/video, eventually leading to the creation of a short film to tell a story. |
