PHILOSOPHY
The Performing Arts offer students opportunities to expand and develop their artistic and creative skills. Each discipline within the arts provides its own unique approach to self-expression, communication, intrinsic worth, and emotional exploration through individual and collaborative approaches.
Performing Arts promote personal and social development and enable a lifelong journey of expression, enjoyment, and cultural enrichment. The Arts offer a deeper meaning to every student’s well being.

Course Description: |
This course is open for 10th through 12th grade students. In-depth exploration of the various aspects of acting techniques using improvisation as well as scripted and original materials will be the focus of the course. Students will learn a range of acting, creativity and collaboration skills that they will apply in individual and group performances. The course will encourage self-directed projects in acting, directing and theater design. The course is for students who desire to develop their performance skills as fully as possible. Performance is a required part of the course and students will keep a journal for recording work.
