STUDENT SUPPORT & WELLBEING

Supporting Every Student, Every Step of the Way

At CAC, student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated student support services ensure that every child feels safe, supported, and empowered to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. From counseling and learning support to wellness initiatives and child safeguarding measures, we are committed to nurturing a community where students can grow with confidence.

Academic Support Services

CAC is committed to ensuring every student thrives. Each division has a dedicated team of learning support specialists and counselors, working alongside a school-wide psychologist to provide personalized interventions.

Support services include English language development, assistance for learning challenges, emotional and behavioral guidance, and speech therapy. For students excelling beyond grade-level expectations, enrichment opportunities ensure they remain challenged. With a focus on individualized growth and well-being, CAC’s student support services empower learners to reach their fullest potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Positive Education Framework

CAC partnered with a Positive Education consultant in 2018 to integrate research-based practices into our classrooms, enhancing students' well-being and academic success. Our teachers receive regular training in this framework, which emphasizes five key dimensions where students thrive: Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment. This approach helps students cultivate positive emotions like gratitude and joy, build resilience, form healthy relationships, and develop healthy habits, all of which contribute to improved academic performance and equip students with the skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Well-Being in Our Divisions

Elementary School

In the Elementary School, students develop confidence and self-efficacy through student agency, learning essential decision-making and self-regulation skills. The well-being framework is built on the principles of being safe, aware, and connected—creating an environment where students feel secure, understand their emotions, and build positive relationships. Social-emotional learning (SEL) units are embedded into the curriculum, teaching students how to express feelings, resolve conflicts, and develop empathy, laying a foundation for lifelong emotional intelligence.

Middle School

Middle School students navigate significant emotional and social changes, and CAC’s program is designed to provide the tools and support they need. The advisory program helps students build emotional regulation skills, manage stress, and develop resilience. Through discussions and activities, students strengthen their self-image, learn how to form healthy relationships, and understand how to feel more supported and less isolated. When students feel overwhelmed, they are taught coping strategies to manage emotions in a healthy way. Beyond advisory, health and physical education classes emphasize balanced nutrition, adequate sleep, and the importance of regular physical activity—often taking advantage of Cairo’s sunshine for outdoor exercise and team sports.

High School

In High School, well-being is prioritized through structured time for connection, reflection, and personal growth. Homeroom provides a low-stress start to the school day, offering students a chance to check in with a teacher, build meaningful relationships, and set a positive tone for learning. Flex block provides additional time during the school day for students to seek academic support, complete assignments, or engage in self-care, ensuring they can maintain balance amid academic and extracurricular commitments. In addition, counselors play a key role in guiding students and their families through academic planning and future aspirations, helping to alleviate stress and anxiety about life after high school.

Supporting Every Student’s Well-Being

At CAC, social-emotional well-being is intentionally nurtured at every stage of development, with each division tailoring its approach to meet students’ unique needs. A dedicated team of counselors supports students in every division, and systems are built into daily life to promote emotional, social, and mental well-being.

    Supporting Our Community

    Supporting our community

A Community That Feels Like Home

CAC is more than a school, it’s a vibrant gathering place for our entire community. We are committed to the well-being of students, staff, teachers, and parents, intentionally fostering a strong home-school partnership. Through parenting classes, community events, and wellness programs, we provide meaningful support for families. Our campus remains open after school and on weekends, welcoming families to swim in the pool, exercise in the fitness center, play on the fields and playgrounds, or enjoy a coffee with friends, creating a space where everyone feels valued, supported, and connected.

    Health Office

Our Health Office ensures students have access to immediate medical care, with two full-time nurses and a visiting doctor available weekly. This dedicated team provides essential health services, guidance, and support, helping to maintain a safe and healthy school environment.
