DanielBischofDaniel Bischof is the Management Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo.  With more than 20 years in the Foreign Service and the rank of Minister Counselor, Daniel recently served as Director for Eastern European Affairs at the Department of State, the office responsible for U.S. policy toward Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova.  He was Acting Deputy Chief of Mission and Counselor for Economic and Political Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore for three years.  He served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Dili, Timor-Leste.  Other foreign assignments include Manila, Philippines; Vientiane, Laos; and Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Daniel is fluent in Thai and has studied Korean and Lao. Prior to joining the Department of State, he practiced law in Florida.  He is a graduate of Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College and the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.

Daniel is married to Jane S. Kim, also a Foreign Service Officer
