Last Thursday, Cairo American College came together to celebrate one of its most cherished traditions—the Egypt Festival—with an extra layer of significance this year. As the festival coincided with Ramadan, it provided a unique opportunity for the CAC community to experience the celebration through the spirit of the holy month, culminating in a beautiful open Iftar for all.
Even with a touch of rain, the festival remained a truly special experience, bringing the community together in a celebration of culture, tradition, and togetherness.
The Egypt Festival is an annual tradition at CAC, honoring and celebrating Egypt, our host country. It’s a day filled with immersive experiences, vibrant performances, and cultural appreciation. From classroom activities that bring Egypt’s rich history to life to an elementary school showcase featuring lively Egyptian folklore performances, the festival offers something for everyone.
Beyond the performances, the campus transformed into a bustling Egyptian marketplace, where families explored a variety of vendors selling handcrafted treasures, artisanal goods, and traditional Egyptian crafts. The festival wrapped up in the most special way—with a community-wide Iftar, where everyone gathered to break their fast over authentic Egyptian cuisine, followed by a mesmerizing Tanoura performance.
This year’s Egypt Festival was particularly special as CAC celebrates 80 years of diversity and exceptional international education. With the theme "Egypt: A Story to Be Told," the day honored the deep connections between CAC and Egypt, reminding us of the beauty, heritage, and traditions that shape our shared experiences.
Even the rain couldn’t dampen the festival’s spirit—it only added to the unique and memorable atmosphere of the day!
At Cairo American College (CAC), creativity and innovation start early. Our Imagination & Innovation program sparks curiosity and problem-solving skills from the very first years of school, ensuring students develop the mindset and tools to thrive in an ever-changing world.
In our purpose-built Make and Design (MAD) Lab, elementary students bring their ideas to life through hands-on exploration. Using 3D printers, robotics, and design-thinking challenges, young learners experiment, build, and refine their creations—turning imagination into reality.
This program fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and a love for innovation, preparing students for the future while encouraging them to dream big. Whether designing prototypes, coding animations, or crafting models, CAC students develop the skills to shape the world of tomorrow—starting today.
Stay tuned for more exciting projects from our young innovators in the MAD Lab!
