Future-oriented Learning Systems at CAC

CAC is transforming our students’ learning experiences by strategically introducing the big ideas and converging technologies that will accelerate the world over the next 50 years.  The pace of technological advancement is exponentially accelerating as evidenced recently with ChatGPT, and our youngest CAC PK3 learners will not enter the workforce until nearly 2050.  Extensive research and conversations with university professors and students, influencers, technological pioneers, and practitioners helped guide our curricular framework for this revolutionary sequence of course offerings.

Three streams of electives from grade 6 through grade 10 will expose students to knowledge, skills, and practical experiences:  (1) Financial literacy to include decentralized finance, blockchain, finance and market principles; (2)  Disruptive Innovative Technologies to include Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Metaverse, Green Energy, and Genome Sequencing; (3) Engineering and Design to include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Design Thinking.  Discussion and research are currently underway for further curricular enrichment surveying Orbital Aerospace, Autonomous Logistics and Supply Movement, and Smart Contracts/Smart Cities.

The Middle School experience in grade 6-8 will be a spiraling survey sequence of courses that introduce students to all three streams via non-traditional learning methods, guest speakers, field trips, and personalized learning.  The High School grade 9 and 10 courses will allow students to go deeper into two specific content areas representing the three streams.  For example, Decentralized Finance and Public Blockchains or Green Energy focusing on solar and hydrogen power or biotechnological sciences with genome sequencing and RNA manipulations.
